The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation’s Physical Therapy Department (CHCC-PT) provides care to inpatients and outpatient setting. The CHCC-PT offers comprehensive program to assist patients in their recovery after illness, injury, disabilities, impairments or limitations in their ability to physically function. Specialized equipment is available as needed to enhance the treatment.

CHCC-PT develops a personalized treatment plan to help the patients recover to their highest level of function. The referring Physician is a key part of our team and communication is maintained through regular progress summaries. The treatment combines advanced technology and highly skilled registered Physical Therapists who provide one-on-one care. An individualized treatment plan is designed for the patient based on evaluation results and the goal of the patient.

Physical Therapist evaluate and treat patients to improve their strength, range of motion, flexibility, coordination, balance, posture, endurance, and mobility skills. CHCC-PT conditions treated are:

·         Acute sprains and strains

·         Back pain

·         Arthritis

·         Brain injury

·         Neurological dysfunction

·         Orthopedic – surgical and non-surgical

·         Soft tissue injuries

·         Spinal cord injury

·         Stroke

·         Total joint replacements

·         Vestibular and balance problems

·         Skilled wound care

All rehabilitation physical therapeutic services require a Physician’s referral. A team approach with the referring physician and the physical therapist is consistently utilized to ensure closer case management and quality care.

Frequency and duration of therapy
Many factors, including diagnosis, pre-existing conditions, and lifestyle, impact the frequency and duration of therapy. We work closely with both, the patient and referring physician to return patients to their desired level of activity as quickly and safely as possible. Each session will typically last from 45 minutes to 1 hour.

What to Wear to Physical Therapy
Please wear something loose and comfortable that allows the therapist a clear view of the body part that is to be treated.  For example, if you have knee pain – then shorts would be best.
