Substance Abuse Prevention Services
The Substance Abuse Prevention Programs began under the previous Department of Public Health Community Guidance Center (CGC) that partnered with community stakeholders to provide comprehensive, effective Behavioral Health Services to the CNMI community. Current Substance Abuse Prevention programs include the Synar Program, Project Brabu, and Strategic Prevention Framework State Prevention Enhancement (SPF SPE) Project. These programs and all substance abuse prevention community outreach, planning, implementation, and evaluation efforts are federally funded by the Department of Health and Human Services: Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) through the following grants: The Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block (SAPT) Grant, Strategic Prevention Framework: State Incentive Grant (SPF SIG), and Strategic Prevention Framework State Prevention Enhancement (SPF SPE) Grant.
